I was a big fan of Britax before this seat, now I'm seriously disappointed with them. We had two Roundabouts that we loved, although I have wished several times that we had instead bought one Roundabout and one Marathon, so that we didn't have to replace two seats at once when our daughter reached 40 lbs.
I selected the Frontier because it's a Britax and I expected quality and ease of use. I had gotten pretty good at installing the Roundabout, but after hearing several people (including a couple of CPSTs) complain about the difficulty of installation with the Frontier, I took it to a local store that has trained CPSTs to install the seats and let them do it.
What I really wish I had done was played with this one and a couple of others in the stores first to see which I liked best. I'll be shopping soon for another one, and you can bet I'll be trying the Graco Nautilus and any other available 5-point harness seats that go to 65lbs to see if I like something else better.
The biggest challenge we face with this seat is getting our daughter (age 4.5, weight 38 lbs) buckled into the seat quickly and comfortably. The harness straps are usually twisted, (and yes, I do tuck them around the armrests when I get her out of the car, although my husband doesn't always) and they won't tighten properly. I am actually concerned that I can't get her secured in the seat the way she should be for best safety. The amount of time I spend bent over (and I'm only 5'2") trying to get the straps properly adjusted, buckled, and tightened is much more than I'd like to spend, especially in the Oregon rain. Also, when I unbuckle her, the button doesn't always release both harness pieces at the same time, so I may get one strap tucked away only to realize that I have to push the button again to release the other strap.
I hope I can find something better, and that this seat can go in my husband's car, where it will rarely be used. Pretty sad for an expensive seat from a company I once considered the best. Get more detail about Britax Frontier Booster Car Seat Rushmore.
